  1. Not really. Tofu is made by introducing a coagulant and is a lot less germy. I wouldn't recommend eating it

  2. Tofu is bean curd made from soy milk. When soy milk goes bed it becomes sour soy milk not tofu. It's the same with cows milk, it dosn't turn into cheese when it goes bad does it?

  3. No, not tofu, more like soy cheese, but it could be infected with 'bad' bacteria, so don't eat it.

They traditionally make cheese by adding lemon juice (or similar ingredient) to milk.  Adding that to soymilk will likely do the same thing.  There is actually a product in Asian that is called stinky tofu or fermented bean curd or preserved bean curd, which is actually what we would call tofu cheese here.  So, yeah, you can make cheese from soy milk.  And yes it stinks, but actually, it doesn't taste like it stinks. You use it instead of soy sauce or whatever.  Put a cube on a plate for everyone to use, take a little pinch of it with your chopsticks then scoop some food too, and eat it. Yum!

If you are interested, here's an example, comes in a glass or ceramic jar.  What you see are the fermented tofu cubes with soybeans and rice in there too:

Oh, finally found it on Wikipedia, called "Pickled tofu" -- ha ha!

It's really fantastic stuff and comes in all sorts of different flavours (from wine, to sweet, to spicy...) and textures (smooth, firm, soft), basically there are just as many different tofu-cheeses as there are milk-cheeses.  Someone should make this tofu cheese and try to make a flavour similar to milk cheese -- that would be interesting.

  4. You are joking of course!!!

So to answer your question, NO it is not tofu, it is just off lumpy yucky soy milk. Nothing more, nothing less.

Tofu is made using soy beans that are boiled and processed in a certian way.

Soy milk is just a different by-product, made a different way. If making home-made soy milk, you don't boil the beans.

When soy milk goes bad, tip it down the sink.
