And what i say to him is i don't here where is he getting this information. I was taught and told that soy is a lot healthier, and better for your body. What is the truth??

  1. soy is very good for you, it doesn't have all the cholesterol and saturated fat that is in animal meats; plus it tastes better :-)

  2. soy is awesome I would never listen to anyone who said never to eat it again -

I hate cow's milk & we can't really afford soy but I drink it occasionally - I'm also a meat eater, so I'm not a vegan or vegetarian or lacto-ovo - veg - I'm just a regular person who LOVES SOY

The best stuff in this WORLD is better than milk - soy - vanilla flavor.  I've bought orignial & it's ok and they make a chocolate but earth mother doesn't sell it.

  3. Look at what moghusai said...she is absolutely right.

  4. soy is in everything i wish it would stop. i dont know if a hamburger is made of beef or soy anymore. im not vegan i just want normal food.

  5. Soy bad

Nonfermented soy products contain phytic acid, which contains anti-nutritive properties. Phytic acid binds with certain nutrients, including iron, to inhibit their absorption. This is a direct, physical effect that takes place in the digestive system. Their ability to bind is limited by the milligrams of phytic acid present.Products using nonfermented soy include:

    Fresh green soybeans

    Whole dry soybeans

    Nuts

    Sprouts

    Flour

    Soy milk

    Tofu

What makes unfermented soy particularly unsafe: It's hard to avoid soy in processed foods such as baby formula, meat substitutes, drinks and snacks. One can find it in a great many domestically-produced food products at the grocery store. Additionally, soy is sanctioned by groups like the Soy Protein Council and USDA that cite the presence of isoflavones scientists say reduces one's risk of cancer.

    Soy Good

On the other hand, fermented soy stops the effect of phytic acid and increases the availability of isoflavones. The fermentation also creates the probiotics--the "good" bacteria the body is absolutely dependent on, such as lactobacilli--that increase the quantity, availability, digestibility and assimilation of nutrients in the body.

    Products using fermented soy include:

    Natto

    Miso

    Tempeh

    Soy sauces

    Fermented tofu and soymilk

Many studies have shown traditionally fermented soy--which is the form that is very popular in many Asian cultures--aids in preventing and reducing a variety of diseases including certain forms of heart disease and cancers.

  6. It's incredibly healthy and good for you - it's full of protein and is made of vegetables, so you get your protein and veggies in one thing!

  7. Well I know soy is more healthy than meat.

    Hope that helps some.

  8. Billions of Chinese would suggest that soy is good for you. They also have the highest fertility rate in the world, so I wouldn't accuse their men of being girlie from eating soy.

  9. You have to decide each question like this for yourself.  If you go to the soy bean farmer, he will tell you soy is good because you end up consuming his product.  This is a financial benefit for him, just good business.  If you ask a potato farmer if soy is good, he will say NO.  He would rather you didn't but soy when you could buy potatoes.

I buy potatoes not soy, but I do this because I like potaoes better.  I have given both a fair trial and my internal jury came out for potatoes,

Moral:  A lot of information is someone's marketing gimmick.
