Question:

Space Guard Good For Dust?

My house has a dust problem. I have a 16 seer, York Heat pump with space guard filtration and line duct that is sealed. I can dust on Monday and by Wednesday it looks like I haven’t

dusted in a month. I keep the fan running so the air in the house can circulate. Any ideas as to what the problem can be?

  1. Nothing, no filter system, no stand alone filter, absolutely nothing will make a home dust free.

Spaceguard is as good as it gets as a passive filter system, the only thing better is the Spacegard 5000 electronic system. But it will not give you a dust free home either.

Sealed line duct is what material? Metal or "DUCT BOARD" fiberglass insulation c**p? You could find some of your problem within the supply ducting, but this will not be the entire issue.

  2. If you smoke, have more than one pet, or person living in a house...there is no way to avoid this. Dust is air particles like when you open the front door or windows, and dander (human and pest, dead skin cells) There is no avoiding it. You can try not cooking as much, or smoking outside. There is no easy way around dust. Sorry but it's everywhere. In my house there are 5 of us, 2 of us smoke, and if I dust Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon same Sh*t! The only things that don't need to be dusted are things in the china cabinet because they are locked behind glass doors. Good luck with your dust!
