Space Rocket exhaust, where does it go?

If space is an empty vacuum, where does the carbon, and other molecules of air go from the exhaust of a rocket in space?

  1. spaceships or rockets  uses hydrogen as fuel.  A fuel is burnt to get energy. Wen hydrogen will undergo combustion we will only get water and energy. And water isnt harmful at all:)
