Space button on my phone? PLEASE HELP!?

i just got a new cell phone , its an Lg 285 and i was trying to send a text but i dont know how to make a space in between words.

i tried the like arrow button on the right side of the phone ( the one in the circle)..if you get whatr i mean but it wnot make a space?

Please help this is so frustrating ahah

try pushing the # key....this is usually the space on LG phones.
