Space for Lease signs are everywhere

If I lease the Milky Way and change it's name, would my home planet still be able to call me?

The housing market is terrible, and people can't sell.  Many who have to move to new jobs rend out their houses.  If you lease a house, and change the number on the mail box, you might not get your mail anymore.  But most postal workers will remember the old number, and not be fooled. They might not even see that you've changed it. The same will likely be true for the Milky Way.  Even if you call it a Mars Bar, everyone still remembers the old name.  And most will not have heard of your new name.

So your home planet, what did you call it? Dirt?, will probably still be able to get in touch.
