Space saver/decorating suggestions for apartment?

i currently live in a decent sized two bedroom house with a seperate laundry room and a big kitchen a big yard and a shed....but i'm moving into a pretty small one bedroom apartment in October. i have a lot of things that i dont want to get rid of (i've already gotten rid of A LOT of things) and i was just wondering if anyone had any good tips on how to organize a small apartment or how to decorate it to appear larger. any tips would be appreciated, thanks so much!! :]

  1. Yeah lighter colors definetly make a room seem much larger than it actually is, while dark colors do the opposite. Mirrors help to make the room seem bigger too. Well they have those cublicle things at target, and a bunch of other places. I think they are cute, and really good for organizing your stuff I'll post a link to some. I think you should paint it a pretty aqua blue and use either chocolate brown, white, or black to compliment it. I was thinking like the color in the link below. That's just my personal opinion.   2. Use smaller furniture or less of it. If your furniture is big it will take up all the space. So will too much. Try to make the things you have do double duty too. For instance, an ottoman that can be a stool and has storage inside.  

  3. if you paint it a light color itll seem more open

    the darker the color the smaller the room
