Question:

Spacers Problem?

by  |  earlier

I had spacers put in two weeks ago. I accidentally swallowed one of my spacers two days later. I got an appointment and had that spacer put in again. But then a day later, I swallowed that same spacer. I didn't make any appointment because the last time I went to get it replaced, the lady seemed really annoyed so I got scared. Also, I already had a gap there even before I got spacers put in, so I guess that is why they kept on coming out. But I'm getting my braces next week, so I was wondering if I should make an appointment again to have spacer put in. Right now, there is a really really really small gap there. So should I go make an appointment again? What will happen if there isn't any space when it's time to put in my braces?

Thanks (:

  1. Don't feel bad. It's not your fault the spacer came out.

If they give you a hard time about it, don't listen. Fire back and say, look, you guys are putting things in my mouth that are falling out. I could choke. Do a better job, that's what we're paying you for!!!

Definitely go back in and get a spacer... and if they give you attitude, remind them who's paying them.

You want that spacer because if your teeth are too close for the bands they put in, you'll have to wait longer for your braces... which means they'll be on longer...

Better to always go in whenever anything happens that isn't normal. That way you can be confident that your braces will be on and off as fast as possible.

  2. LISTEN TO BZR!!

  3. well i just got spacers put in last monday and they said it would feel like food in between your teeth and not to pick at it. If you picked at thats why it came out. they wouldent just keep putting in spacers if you had a big enough gap already. and when it comes time for your braces and the gap isent big enough you will have to wait for the gap to become big untill you can get them on
