Spacers???

Okay I know this is like my thousandth question about spacers, but I want as many questions as possible.

Please tell me all you know! Please, you're experiences, too!

I am getting them tomorrow and I'm starting to get nervous!

when you go the ortho, they will floss the spacers in between your teeth.  Spacers are horrible! they hurt so bad! When I had them I thought they hurt worse than braces.  After a few days, the pain goes away.  Just take alot of tylenol, and eat soft foods that you dont have to chew and you'll be fine!

Spacers are the least of your worries....They're just small blue rubberbands and they dont hurt going in at all.... Braces are the big pain. Braces dont hurt going on but after a few hours it will feel like someones is yanking your teeth out...but it does get better in a week or 2. Dont get scared you're lucky because you'll have all summer to adjust before you go to school and you have to talk a lot or do sports

Ugh, I hated spacers. They killed. The most important thing for you to do is take plenty of tylenol before you get them on! When I got mine on, I didn't take tylenol, and I had to go to school right afterwards. My mouth hurt all day. But if you take medicine for headaches, they really don't hurt.

For the first couple days, all I would eat was things like pudding and apple sauce (soft and cold).

Of course, it probaly depends on how crowded your teeth are. Mine were very crowded, so there wasn't much space for them. I've heard plenty of stories from people who have had spacers, expanders, and braces. Some said that the spacers didn't hurt, but the expander did, and vice versa. In my experience, the spacers really hurt, but the expander was just annoying.
