Question:

Spain, Italy, or Hawaii in April?

My family and I are trying to decide where to go for my school's April vacation, which is from the 19th to the 27th. We are deciding between Italy, Spain, and Hawaii.

We would love to have a relaxing vacation in Hawaii, but we've heard that 1.5-2 weeks are recommended for a vacation there, and as we have to stay within the aforementioned timeframe, we're not sure that we would be able to have a quality vacation.

Any insight about recommendations for a vacation in Hawaii would be great.

Otherwise, we're also not sure what the best choice would be between Italy and Spain... Any advice would be really helpful!

Thanks :-)

  1. Italy! Lots too see and the timing is perfect: not too crowded or too hot. If you want to see authentic Italy, go for a vacation off the beaten path in Le Marche region. It is said to be next Tuscany but is still undiscovered by mass tourism.

Buon viaggio! (have a good trip in Italian)

  2. Depending where you live Hawaii could be doable if you lived on the West Coast. You lose about 2 days travel from the East coast unfortunately.

In 8 days you could do 2.5 days on three islands. It would be just a taste for a future date to go  back. I would recommend the Big Island, Maui and Oahu. I would do the Big Island first, than Maui and Oahu last.

If that's too rushed for you, My next choice would be ITALY.

Loved the people, the food and the sites. Be sure to include Rome in your travels. It's a big country. Italy is not cheap and the dollar is not doing great right now.

I really don't know anything about Spain and the affordability compared to Italy.

I think even though ideally you need more time in Hawaii, I would go there because traveling to Europe you need more time too.

Good Luck and I wish you happy travels)
