Spain, Poached Pear dessert?

I had an amazing poached pear dessert at a Spanish restaurant. The pears were poached in wine but were not red and there were some subtle spices. They was a mild floral aroma to the dish and the pears were a lovely almost bright yellowy gold color.

Does anyone have a recipe? What type of wine or liquid was used for the poaching? Any idea what spices were used?
