  1. I've been in those 3 places and the most beautiful one is Barcelona. Barcelona is more en charming than the other two. Barcelona is the land of art, expositions, and also cabarets. Barcelona is the cultural capital of Spain.

There are many monuments that must be seen, as for example "la Sagrada Familia" or " el Parc Güell" all from Gaudi. Barcelona is more visited than Madrid, in summer is full of tourist all world along.

You better go to Barcelona, the other two cities are also very important ones, but Barcelona is the coolest city in Spain.

  2. Barcelona, because of it's culture, the beauty of it, the shopping, it's more open than the USA it's less cars and more walking to places! I've been to Barcelona before and it's the best place you could ever visit...and Paris! LOL

They have wonderful food there, they speak SPANISH but with an accent so even if you learned Spanish you could still do there.

  3. Valencia -- because I've been to the others already.  For a first trip to Spain I would pick Sevilla for the same reasons as the first answer.

  4. sevilla

    so much strong culture

    and has wonderful moore influences

and morroco is very much alive there

  5. Barcelona every time. Vibrant day & night life; wonderful buildings; good shops; huge choice of food & places to eat; markets; museums; art galleries; great beach and harbour area. It's got everything

  6. I am not toking much Spanish and the English but you can tell because the state several times in all those places

Seville and Valencia for the bulls and this Flemish and valence by the yellow rice is called paella and the failures and Falleras and Barcelona is the most cool part is the best is an amusement park on top of a mountain q is also todp barcelona is the biggest and has many scratches sky you could also see the musical grease q is a lot of fun but not what you etenderias but what good time

  7. I think Barcelona, because it´s more cosmopolite and great city . Valencia and Sevilla are a very baetiful too, but not more important  than Barcelona.

  8. If those are my choices, I'd pick Barcelona.  I lived in Madrid, which by comparison is boring.  Barcelona is the crossroads between Spain and the rest of Europe, so if you're planning to see more of Europe, it's better situated for that.  You can also explore the Costa Brava, make a trip down to Valencia or over to San Sebastián (my favorite) and even take in the sanfermines in Pamplona more easily from there.

Valencia is fine, although I was there a long time before the building boom that I understand has taken place there.  Fallas is a riot.

Sevilla isn't as interesting to me for some reason, so I'd listen to other people about that.  The benefit to being in Sevilla is that you can explore Andalucía more easily from there, especially Córdoba and Granada, Cádiz and Jerez de la frontera, and even make a trip to Marruecos if the urge hits you.  The weather's warmer down there, too.

The fact of the matter is you can hardly go wrong in Spain.  It's a beautiful country with much to offer.

  9. If I could only do one, and I had never been to any before...Sevilla.  That's what I did, in fact.

Because it is the most romantic of the three.  Most beautiful, most historic, in terms of the more interesting history.  It has the best mix of all three dominant cultures of Spain.  (Christian, Moorish, and Jewish).  And, as one who has experience in all three, it's still my favorite.

Of course, if you're more into turn of the century architecture, Barcelona would be more interesting to you.

And if you're more interested in modern (really contemporary) architecture and science, Valencia has that huge new complex of Calatrava buildings housing the new Science complex including the largest aquarium in Europe.

So, it's kind of a personal choice.

  10. I haven't been to valencia so i'll choose sevilla over barcelona due to the moorish history, barcelona comes a close second both absolutely beautiful in their own way.

  11. Well it all really depends on who's going and what they want to do since each of these cities could be the best for different individuals....

Honestly, I prefer Madrid.... love the nightlife, the museums, the parque de retiero, the metro is amazing.... and there are smaller cities nearby to get away from the mess of a big city and enjoy and smaller personal Spain.... Barcelona I liked a lot, but never made it to the beach... so maybe I missed something???

Either way Spain is amazing... I never really had the urge to go there, but since I've been.. I love it more than most of the other places I've visited...

San Sebastian is also wonderful if interested in trying to add another city to your already hard choices :)
