Spain Food?

What food is special towards Spain?

Not like its exports or anything, but rather something students can use for a presentation as an example of what Spain eats. More of a traditional type-like food would be helpful.

Not any of their major exports either please.

Any suggestions help.

  2. Spain is a diverse and varied country, so the food from the north can be, and is in fact, quite different to that in the south, or in the mediterranean coast. In fact, every single region has it's own specialities and typical dishes. But everybody loves jamon iberico. Cured ham. The best cured ham in the world. That's a unique symbol of Spain.

  3. In case you mean general food or recipes, fish and meat of all kind are very typical.

  4. spainsh omellette. Slice some potatoes and some onion and fry until soft, drain any exccess oil. Whisk some egges and the put potatoes and onion into the egg mix the pour the mixture into a frying pan..

  5. Paella is definitely a great traditional dish, but if this is for a school project, something simple like tapas (which are basically hors d'oevres) would probably be better.  Serve the food with cut up baguette bread, and dry breadsticks.  

    Some basic tapas:

    Cured ham

    Sheep's cheese

    Any seafood

    Tortilla Espanola, an easy version:

    *Cut up about 4 med size potatoes into chunks, and boil them instead of frying.  Don't overcook.  Drain and dry off.

    *Beat about 4 eggs and add some salt.  Stir in the potatoes carefully.  (Add onions, peppers, sausage, too if you want)

    *Heat up some olive oil in a nonstick pan, then pour in the eggs and potatoes.  Cover and cook on medium heat.

    *Flip the tortilla over onto a plate, then slide it back onto the pan to cook the other side.

    *You might need to flip the tortilla over a few times just to make sure it's fully cooked.

    *Cut in wedges like a pie.

    Non-alcoholic Sangria:

    1 part orange juice

    4 parts club soda

    4 parts grape juice

    1/4 part sugar

    Chopped up apple, pear, lemon, and orange

    Just mix it all together and dissolve the sugar.

    General food, on the coast, sea-food like octopuss, cod, squid, prawns. Rice is very important also and definitely bread. Diffent types of sausages, "embutidos", chistorra, morcilla. Pork ham in different versions, especially the "curated" one.

  9. You cpuld try tapas which is several small dishes of different things or try a paella either fish, meat or a mix of both
