Spain beats Hungary in the preliminary round of Group ‘A’ Women’s Water Polo match on day seven of the water polo events at the 2012 London Olympic Games in Water Polo Arena on Friday, August 3.
The game remained pretty tough in the first quarter, where Hungary scored the opening goal of the game, but their effort was shortly followed by the Spanish team that also scored a goal.
With their persistent efforts, both teams kept scoring goals and the first quarter ended with a 4-3 score, Spain being in the lead of one.
The Spanish team took charge of the game in the second quarter as they scored two consecutive goals to pressurise their opponents.

to the Spanish squad as the score went up to 10-7 after the quarter.
The last quarter of the game was very crucial for Hungary, as they needed to show some real skills in order to upset Spain. The Hungarian team accomplished four goals in the last eight minutes while Spain managed to achieve three goals and proved their victory
by making the score 13-11 after the second half.
Dora Antal of Hungary was the highest goal scorer of the match as she scored four goals in the game while Anni Espar Llaquet of Spain played a crucial role in her team’s win by scoring three goals in the four-quarter game.
In addition, with their commendable victory in the tournament, Spain will now play with Great Britain in the quarterfinal of the water polo event.
