I'm 15 going on 16 in March, and this summer I want to go on a study abroad program to learn spanish better. The problem is I don't know if I want to go to Spain, or if I want to go to Argentina. Give some advice please, where would I have more fun, and which place would give me a better experience? =]]

  1. If you wish to learn original castellano then you should head straight to Spain, right to where it was born, no doubt about it, now if you want to learn a more informal younger cool sounding language then you may want to travel down to Argentina.

Spain is such a physically smaller country but with a huge larger history and culture to learn.

Argentina is a relatively new nation and hosts a fresh culture, its territory is wider than Spain's but many provinces are sparsely inhabited.

Be warned if you to go to Argentina, due to immigration reasons its spanish is kind of different to that spoken in other countries, being influenced by its huge italian roots, anyway,  there's nothing you won't be able to understand or get used to.

Either way you decide to go I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. Both countries definatly rulez  :P xDxD.

            Have a good time!

  2. spain would give you alot of help with your spanish and strengthen your vosotros form. either will be very good. but spain is noted for the cities around there.

  3. Don't pretend to be the best answer, but you should also take into account the huge difference in the prices.

It's really a huge difference. Argentina is very cheap right now.

  4. I hate to say this, because I love Argentina, but Spain is far richer in history, tradition, and variety in the language.  You can travel short distances and study (if you wish) other Iberian languages of Latin origin: Galician, Catalan, and Portuguese--even French.

But you would not go wrong in Argentina.

    For what it's worth.
