Spain vacation - Football?

Question

I am going to be travelling to Europe this summer, in around mid to late August. I am a major Real Madrid fan, and it would make my life to see them play a game in the Bernabeu. I know their regular season does not start until the fall, but I was wondering if any friendlies would be played around this time that anyone knows of. As well, what would the process be for obtaining a ticket?

I understand what Sue says about the price, but €75 is about the going rate for a team like Real Madrid. In the UK you can pay over £45 to watch a Premier league match.

Even if there are no games being played, just go and see the stadium, though the atmosphere is electric during a game.

You can search tickets...start with Bernabeu.  Can't remember how I found them, but I found the tickets site, and was appalled at the prices!  It's, like 75€ for the cheap seats!!!  for three of us that was over $300 US!  So much more than we EVER pay for a sporting event, here.   I think I searched by Real Madrid Tickets.  And there seem to be games all summer, as well.  Sundays only.

Spanish football season starts late August/early September, but there should be some pre-season friendlies played around the time you are there.

I managed to get into a low-key friendly quite cheaply a few years back, but any friendly in which all the stars will be playing will cost a lot more.

maybe you could go to a match at the end of August

during summer there are many friendly matches all over Spain.

In Madrid, "Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu" is celebrated also in the end of August or at beginning of September, so you should visit the web site of realmadrid (www.realmadrid.com) to get information in summer about this event and ticket prices before go to Spain.
