  1. Spain won't be any different to the way it was before the elections.  It's the same party that held office before.  The socialists were voted into government just after the terrorist  bombings at Madrid Atocha train station in 2004.  Where have you been?

BTW socialist and communist a totally different things.

  2. In America 'socialist' is a bad word. In the rest of the world the word 'socialist' means very little more than 'socially progressive'. Their policies tend to aim more at benefiting society as a whole as opposed to allowing large corporations and the military-industrial complex to control government policy. For example a socialist government would be more concerned with their citizens having accessible health care than say an American republican government which would be more concerned about securing oil supplies. And as some have pointed out, the socialist party has ruled the past four years in Spain and has had several other spells in office since the fall of the Franco regime. In summary, socialist does not mean boogy man, communist, crazy or bad. At least outside the US of A.

  3. The PSOE (Socialist workers party) were re-elected. They had been in government for the previous 4 years. Zapatero proved to be a successful premier and that is why he was re-elected. Spain have prospered during the government of the PSOE. Spain until recently has had an economy that has been envied by everyone in the western world. It has since fallen because of the USA credit crunch, but it is still ahead of everyone else.

  4. hey, i just got your answer about the jergens glow express lotion and i was wondering what shade you bought the lighter of the two or the darker one? thanks and im planning on buying it tomorrow!

  5. Probably not too different from what France is like.  Generally speaking, the political climate doesn't change all that much how people actually live.

    Let's all cross our fingers!

*edit*  I just read an article about this...This was a REelection.  Spain has BEEN socialist for, what, 4? 6 years?

    Don't think much will change.

Besides.  I thought I should point out: Socialism and Communism are NOT the same thing.

  6. "Since WW2 Spain has fought the communists within it. What will happen now??"

You mean that from the 1930s through the 1970s, Franco's Fascist state fought all forms of workers' organization: labor unions as well as political parties. It also sent a division to support Hitler's invasion of Russia.

  7. don´t worry, Socialism in Europe (in Spain) doesn´t mean what you are thinking of.

Spain is not communist and this socialist party (PSOE) that has won elections is not communist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PSOE has governed Spain many times since 1978 (date when democracy was established again after Dictatorship).

read some information before talking about what you don´t know.

  8. Don't worry.

For a start. Socialist is not equal to Communist.

As long as they have regular Elections people still have a choice.
