Spain’s TP52 Bribon hits second spot in 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit standings after five regattas
Spanish TP52 yacht, Bribon, displayed a classy performance in the last two regattas of 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit to hit the second position overall. They took the penultimate regatta of the circuit, 2011 Region of Murcia Trophy, to move up in the podium places.
After that, they showed some excellent performance in 2011 Conde de Godó City of Barcelona Trophy to make it this far on second position.
Bribon ended on number two podium spot in 2011 Conde de Godó City of Barcelona Trophy with just two points behind the winners, RAN. The Spanish team sailed average in the first three regattas of the season but bounced suddenly in the fourth to prove them
worthy of the title. However, they could not earn the glory Quantum Racing has achieved but still they performed well.
Owner/skipper Bribon, José Cusí spoke to media after the last trophy, “Quantum won the first race and was last in the second. Coming back in to port it was fantastic, I'm really thankful that everybody congratulated us and supported us constantly. We've
proudly sailed with it all over the world.”
He added, “This is Bribón's last race, I'm moved but very happy at the same time, we've given Spain many wins during this 38 years, and that's a reason to be happy. The boat retires but I don't, I'll keep racing on more simple boats. I'm very happy because
the crew has offered me the boat's flag, the one we carry on the stern and all in our hearts, and they're going to sign it.”
