two things:

1. Spain is a "hot blood country" mostly based on the latin culture like France, Italy, Portugal and Greece, that means men are going to be straigh with their urges, they don't really care that much for respect since they think they mean no harm and are not unrespectful doing that "weird things you say"... they kill bulls for fun so what were you expecting???

2. You are extremely paranoic, you sound almost like an american!

I dont understand your problem with Spain man.... I am Spanish, I have travelled all roun Europe... and we are not the most suckers europeans... and Spain is not the worst country in Europe... You have to see Athens or Italy, thats coutries are a joke compared with us hahahha all are ruined.

Anyway....if you were in a city as big as you whole country I understand you were afraid.... 4 million ppl in a city... it too many ppl.

The nest time call me (i live in Madrid) and choose better the places you visit in a city.... for your description you must be in the worst of the worst.

Seems to me that you have no problem. It just may be that where you come from, the guys think that you are foreign looking and maybe (God forbid!) an Arab.

In Spain where most people have darker complexions, the guys think that you are beautiful!

Look up the word 'piropo' in the dictionary.

Grow up and enjoy the attention!

p.s. You are the first person I have heard who thinks that restaurants in Madrid close early. You must be confusing lunch time with dinner time!

Let me get this straight....your shy???, under aged at the time hitting on a tour bus guide who's 33, stupidly give him your ring, starving cuz restaurants close early in Madrid (obsurd as Spaniards eat notoriously late), standing in front of a church for an hour (why???), and you obviously must be the hottest woman/child on earth since not a single man can take their eyes off you!  Seems you had every male in Madrid drooling for you! Spaniards are friendly and yes flirty, but honey, you scream give me attention either in reality or in your own head!  I don't think it's the Spanish men...it's definitely you...I'd advise therapy!

I don`t know what your problem is but the Spanish are 1 of the friendliest people you will ever be lucky enough to meet. I am not Spanish but my boyfriend is and i am hurt by your comment. I think you should take a long hard look in the mirror before you start slagging of a whole nationality!

I am wondering who you dress like -- Paris Hilton? And why you are hanging out in front of buildings for "an hour" and why you think "restaurants close early" in Madrid! That is ridiculous -- most natives in Madrid  don't start dinner until 10 PM or later...plus you came on to your tour guide.yet you say you're SHY?..if anyones's behavior is in question here it's yours.

In Spain, yes, they look a lot more. That is a cultural aspect of the country that you have to get over. Now, that said, it is often very difficult to interpret the look.  Because someone stares at you, doesn't mean they are hot for you.  Also, in Spain there is a thing called a "piropo" which is a comment/compliment sometimes called out as a person is walking by. I think it happens less than it did about 20 yrs ago, but it still happens.  So when someone was "asking for your number" it could have just been their way of saying you were cute - and that was it. They probably didn't really want to hook up.

Hey , I'm not even Spanish but I understand ur personality. u crave & loathe attention at the same time. u were - & still are - a disgruntled teenager who's always pulled between desire & low self-esteem.You would have had the same problems if u were on a trip to paradise itself.

Get over ur dislike for Spain , it's a great country & millions & millions of tourists can tell u that.
