My daughter has a passion for languages (Spanish, German, Japanese). I am all 'tonugue tied' when it comes to teaching it as a homeschool mom though. I don't have her gift for languages, so I understand your dilemma.

Here are some suggestions:

Get a good Spanish curriculum to give you a structured core. We used PowerGlide for Spanish and a few computer CDs.

My daughter visits online forums in topics of interest that are in different languages. She said that this was particularly useful when she was studying German.

She watches videos on the web and on DVD (many videos have alternate languages besides English - turn on English subtitles) that are in different languages. She said that online videos were the most effective tool when she was working on Japanese and DVD alternate language options were the best for Spanish.

Another option, if you know/find anyone that speaks Spanish, is to get a free vRoom. It is an online, 3-seat classroom where you can meet with a tutor or just a friend that knows the language and is willing to check your pronounciation at set times in your progress. It has full-duplex audio (you both will need a mic and headphones), text chat with language symbology for Spanish, and a white board system (can even do PowerPoint slides). there is a computer program. you can buy it at school box. im not to sure the name of it. you might try looking on amazon also. just look for a computer program. it makes test and everything for you usually.
