Short of going to a library, I was wondering if anyone knows of good internet sources where I can find information about Spanish agriculture (mainly farming) in the 15th century. Thanks!

  1. The Spanish were active in claiming new lands and exploring in the 1500's.  They were much more interested finding gold than in agriculture.  In the Americas and islands they concerned the vast empires of the Incas and took back to Spain untold amounts of gold.  It is said by historians that the potatoes they took back to Spain was more valuable to the Spaniards than all of the gold. They also found riches in sugarcane plantations and tobacco.  The 1500's kicked off the Spanish as an agriculture nation.
