Spanish Arch and Buddy Love to lock horns in European Breeders´ Fund “National Hunt” Novices´ Hurdle (Qualifier)
Spanish Arch and Buddy Love are all set to fight out for a victory in the European Breeders´ Fund “National Hunt” Novices´ Hurdle (Qualifier) at Uttoxeter in England on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
All of the participants lined up for action are young and inexperienced, thus the competition is going to be an interesting one. Their skills will be put to a stern test, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 2 miles on a soft ground.
Moreover, the conditions are not likely to improve, which might force some of the runners to withdraw from the class-4 encounter. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of £2,534 in the end, so most of the teams will be looking forward to the start of action
at 14:40 GMT.
Looking at the record of all the stallions, it seems that Buddy Love will be in a very good position to dominate the proceedings, as she is a confident performer. She will definitely get the attention of the punters.
However, the young mare is yet to prove her skills on a rain affected ground, which will put some doubt in the minds of the bettors. She has only raced once in her career and that to on a very different track. Therefore, it will be important for her to cope
up with the wet field at Uttoxeter.
The Martin Keighley’s trainee made her debut in May this year and she was absolutely brilliant in her first ever outing. Despite not being rated as the favourite to succeed, she stormed to the top of the table with a comfortable margin of two lengths. Things
will be a touch different for her today, but she has the ability to adjust very quickly.
On the other hand, Spanish Arch has done well at the amateur level, but is yet to open his account at this level of racing. He has appeared in a couple of competitive events and finished third in both. He will need to do something special in order to outperform
his rivals.
The Charlie Longsdon’s trained gelding will like the track conditions, thus the punters will be eager to risk some money on him as well. He will be accompanied by Noel Fehily.
