Spanish Formula 1 driver Jaime Alguersuari’s album tops charts in Spain – Formula 1 news
Spanish Formula 1 driver Jaime Alguersuari’s debut album, Organic Life, has topped iTunes charts in Spain.
The album was released by a popular record company, Blanco Y Negro on September 14, 2011 and just five days after it hit the market, the album climbed to the number one spot.
While speaking to Autosport.com before the release of his album, Alguersuari had said, “I have been working in the studio on lots of tracks and different things. I am bringing it to the market now because I feel it is time to do so.”
The 21-year-old Spaniard had always had a flair for music alongside his passion for car racing.
He started his career with Formula 1 in 2009 when he joined Scuderia Toro Rosso, when the latter confirmed Alguersuari as their new driver who was to take part in the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix. His debut season at the squad could not bring any notable success.
His contract with the team was extended for another year and 2010 proved to be a much better year for Alguersuari.
It was in 2010 when the Spaniard showcased his singing talent at the Barcelona Music Conference and mesmerised the crowds with his amazing voice. Since then he has regularly been appearing at various clubs like Amnesia under the name Squire.
He said, “It is classic house, the sound of Detroit/Chicago house, and the classic sound from Detroit - but a bit more organic to make it sound a bit easier on everyone's ears as my kind of music is more underground/techno.”
His album, described as “groovy and funky deep and tech house,” by the record company, comprises of a total of 12 tracks, with the title track being the only one that is Alguersuari/Squire’s own creation. The first ten are re-packaged singles while the last
track which runs over an hour is a medley of the previous 11 tunes.
The Spanish is happy at the huge success of his album and has plans to do another album pretty soon.
He said, “I will do an album later on, I need to keep on working on a couple of things - and later on I will do something really cool!”
Let’s wait and see what this Spanish star has to offer more to his fans.
