Spanish Grand Prix winner Pastor Maldonado says he is ready for Monaco challenge – Formula 1
Spanish Grand Prix winner Pastor Maldonado says that he is pumped and ready for the Monaco challenge.
Maldonado the winner of the Spanish Grand Prix said that he is full confidence and hopes to come up with a similar result as he had in the last race. Maldonado surprised everyone with an impressive display of driving. He kept Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen
at bay and never let his nerves take the best of him by leading the race.
It has given a chance to a team that finished 10th in the previous season to move up and finish in the top five. Looking at the season it might not be wishful thinking to suggest that Williams might even be thinking of finishing in the top three such has
been the competitiveness in the season.
There have been five races so far with five different winners from five different teams. No one team is considered a clear favourite. McLaren was being tipped to be ahead of the pack but Lotus have shown that they may improving enough to lead the pack and
with the latest Ferrari’s package for their F2012 has improved the pace of their car.
Williams were hit by a tragic fire incident right after the win in Spain and suffered a heavy equipment loss and injuries to its personnel. Yet the team is ready to race at Monaco.
“Monaco is a very challenging circuit for the drivers both physically and mentality because you have to concentrate fully at all times,” Maldonado said. “But I really enjoy this challenge and I have traditionally done well here in the past. I am full of
confidence after my win at the last race so I go to Monaco with high hopes of getting another strong result for the team.”
“Monaco is one of my favourite tracks because despite being a street circuit it has a lot of flow to it and when you get dialled in you can put in some good laps,” Senna said. “I have performed well there in the past and hopefully that trend will continue
this weekend and we can get some good points.”
It will be interesting to see how Maldonado fares at the Monaco GP.
