Question:

Spanish Riding techniques.?

I want to learn how to ride a horse, but I also want to learn fighting styles of the Spanish Empire on horseback. I've seen it and the horse dances while the horseman guides it with a lance.

Is it hard to learn those techniques, and where can I go to learn them in Southern California?

  1. Start with a Disney movie called the "white stallions"  .  What your seeing dressage, in the higher levels.  These horses are usually Andalusian, the ones that use fighting the bulls.  Takes years of practice but a joy to learn.  Kinda like watching cement set.  Sylvester might be another movie to watch too just to get an idea.  By the way the horseman is not guiding the horse with the lance.  He is doing it by balance and leg pressure.  The lance to for use as a weapon.  If you have any other questions let me know.  My mom raises Andalusian.
