Spanish: What does "facturar el equipaje" means?

I wasn't really paying attention when the teacher translated this.

and I used one online translation site, and it said that "facturar el equipaje means" --------> "to invoice the luggage"

It means to have your Luggage or your  suit-cases checked in, they are talking about arriving at a particular airport ,or bus terminal and have your  luggage check in or check out.... I'm Spanish also , take care.
