Spanish and learning it?

I would like to learn spanish. It is a beautiful language and so I want to learn it. Plus we are going to spain on holiday this year. So can anyone tell me the best guide i can use to learn catalan spanish and a seperate book to learn Spanish. The spanish spoken by those in madrid. V different to catalan spanish.

I need to know which book is the best for learning phrases, sentences, the dialect and which has a cd rom so I can learn how to pronounce it clearly. I would like to be able to learn a bit before i go away.
