if say example, valencia cf B got promoted to the second division this year, and valencia first team get relagated like they nearly did last season. does their b team get relagated back to the 3rd tier, or if say real madrid castilla is in the second division and wins it, and madrid first team get relagated does the b team of madrid go up to replace them, the la laga is to confusing. someone help

thank you

  1. Dunno but i think english leagues should start using Reserve teams in lower leagues. that way the players cant really complain about competative football if spain can do it then england can do it

  2. basically the main first team and the b team cant be in the same league

  3. The general rule is that the senior team always takes precedence before their reserve team.

    In the examples you've given:

-- If Valencia CF were to get relegated into the 2nd Division (Segunda División), their B side (Valencia CF Mestalla) would not be able to move higher than the third tier of the Spanish league chain (Segunda División B).

-- Likewise, if Real Madrid were to get relegated to the Segunda División, their reserve team (Real Madrid Castilla) would be forced to drop down to Segunda División B regardless of how well they finished in the Segunda División. The next highest placed non-reserve team in the standings would gain promotion to the top flight in place of RM Castilla.

While I'm at it I'll also mention that if a club's B team is doing well and their senior team is not doing as well above them, the senior team CANNOT send any of their players to the B team to help them gain promotion unless they are under 23 years of age. Only U-23 players are allowed to move back and forth between the first and second teams. Thus, as is custom in England, if a player is returning from injury he cannot play in the reserves to gain match fitness. He must return to the senior team.

  4. th b team stay down of valencia

the b team would stay in second div of real

its pretty simple just cnt b in sm league

  5. Good question. But I don't know, so I'll wait till somebody who does know, answers

  6. -If valencia B got promoted to the second division, and valencia's first team get relagated, then the valencia B will play in la liga (primera division) whilst valencia's first team will be in liga BBVA (segunda division), so there's an exchange.

-if madrid get relegated, but castilla is NOT promoted, then castilla will dropped to the 3rd division (even though they're not finished in relegation zone), whilst madrid in liga BBVA

the spanish FA is not allowing two team with the same name (or management) played in the same league.
