we are doing a interview . how do you say "How may cats do you have?"

Answer 1

¿Cuántos gatos tiene? (If the person you're talking to is older than you)

¿Cuántos gatos tienes? (If the person you're talking to is around your age)

EDIT:

¿Cuáles son los nombres de sus gatos? (Person older than you)

¿Cuáles son los nombres de tus gatos? (person around your age)

"¿Cuántos gatos tiene usted?" (formal)

"¿Cuántos gatos tienes?" (informal)

Since this is for an interview, I would use the first one.

I think you mean how many cats do you have.    Cuantos gatos tienes? (informal) or  Cuantos gatos tiene usted?  (formal)
