  1. Neither is right.

Some of the previous users have given you correct answers about using Por or Para, but when you say  I pay for the house   the translation is not  Yo PAGO POR la casa, but  Yo PAGO la casa.

What I mean is that PAGAR is the correct translation of Pay for in your sentence. In Spanish you say PAGAR POR when you pay for something as a favor to someone else. For example, when you pay for someone else's dinner you can say I'll pay for her (Yo PAGARÉ POR ella). Can you see the difference?

    I hope that helped.

  2. (por) is the same as (for)

      Yo pago por la casa

  3. "I pay for the house." is "Yo pago por la casa."

Por and Para can be confusing. I have a video on my website that might help you to understand it better.

Here is another page that breaks it down too.

  4. "Yo pago por la casa"

Edit: If you want to know why, go to this link:

  5. "I pay for the house"= "Yo pago por la casa".

"Por" is used to explain the reason or cause for an action. "Para" is used to explain the purpose of an action.

"Por" is used for an exchange or in place of:

"How much did you pay for the house?"= Cuanto pagaste por la casa?
