My spark plug got stripped and it is stuck in the motor. How would I remove that? Is there a way to remove it without taking apart the whole motor? If I have to take it into a shop to get it taken out how much would it cost? Someone please help

  1. that's a bummer..

when you say stripped are you saying that it is spinning and not coming out? if so, then it could actually be broken, I have encountered this only one time.

I think if you can, you get a drill and make a small straight hole, then get a left hand drill bit or s***w and be extremely careful and very meticulos and see if it will come out.

If it even feels like it won't work, then I would stop and then call around to some of the shops and find out what they would do in this case, they may even be able to tell you how, if you can talk them into it

  2. if it just goes around and around in the head, then see if you can get something like vise grips on it and pull up and turn at the same time, maybe it will catch thread and come out.

  3. if you take it to a shop they might be able to heli coil it back in

also keep in mine the labor can be any where from 50 to 130 $ per hour

and r&r the head is at least 4 to 5 hours and then you will have to fix or replace the head

might be able to get it out and fix the threads your self

with a tap but you will have to get all the metal out be for starting the engine or you could do more damage to the engine like big bucks

be carefull might be better  let the pros do the work and cheeper in the long run

    hope this helps
