Question:

Sparknotes Practice Tests for the SAT: Easier or Harder?

My friend told me that the CR sections were slightly harder, however I found them to be significantly easier than other books but only suffused with ridiculous vocabulary (which makes it easier because you dont have to distinguish between the differing connotations of words, the answers more obvious). I also found the math sections to be unrealistically harder, however not terrible. The writing sections are decent.

What do you guys think? Do you feel the same way?

  1. I found it too be average. Sometimes it shows you the format, but that's about it. Don't waste your money and just pay attention to what you learn in school

  2. I never used the Sparknotes practice tests and neither did anyone I know who scored well.  I'd recommend getting Collegeboard's Official SAT Study Guide. I've used almost every study guide out there, but Collegeboard's worked the best for me. They're the ones who make the SATs so their practice exams are most like the real tests. Everyone I know including myself who used Princeton Review thought it was a lot easier than the real SATs. So they don't prepare you as well because you might get an 800 on the math section in the Princeton Review book, but get much lower than that on the real test. You really can't go wrong with the Collegeboard's Official SAT Study Guide because those are real tests.

    Good luck!
