Its an older engine. Its probably like a 1978. It has 3 spark plugs. I looked at the plugs and all of them had different gaps. That can't be good. What is the correct gap for this type of engine. It is a 70hp chrysler outboard engine.

  1. Buy a new engine (Evinrude or Mercury).  Chrysler and Force engines are a nightmare anyway.

  2. Most plugs that you get today are pre-gapped when you buy them. Gapping doesn't truly make a huge difference when you have an old two-stroke motor. Go to your local auto parts store, get the plugs you need (they'll look them up and make sure that you get the right ones if you ask) throw 'em in and go. Make sure your carbs are clean as well, because the gunk from the carbs will foul your plugs again. Usually, the gap is going to be right around the .30 to .40 range but I wouldn't worry about it.
