Karpin blames poor refereeing decision for the Moscow-based club’s latest Russian Premier League defeat against Zenit St. Petersburg at Luzhniki stadium.
Spartak Moscow head coach, Valery Karpin, has blamed the match officials for showing inconsistency in the 2-1 Russian Premier League defeat against Zenit St. Petersburg at Luzhniki stadium.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kerzhakov-c4569 managed to double their lead by scoring from the penalty spot during the second period. Though the host team got one
back through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Artem-Dzyuba-c6682, they failed to score the equalizer late in the game.
As a result, Spartak have now fallen down to the fourth spot on the league table and should they lose the upcoming game against Kuban Krasnodar, they may well lose out in their quest to reclaim the league title this season.
As things stand, they are level on points with the fifth-placed Dynamo Moscow and trail the league leaders, Zenit, by 12 points.
Karpin, who was upset with the refereeing decisions during the match, revealed that they played against the St. Petersburg club on equal footings but they were unluckily not to get some decisions in their favour.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 manager revealed that it looked like the referees had made up their minds against them ahead of the crunch league encounter and went on to highlight the decisions that went against them.
“When Tomas Hubocan was fouled, the referee stopped the game but he forgot to blow the whistle in a similar situation with Dmitry Kombarov. Zenit took advantage of the situation and went on to win a penalty because of it, late
in the game. I think it’s quite unfair. However, this is just one example.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Spartak goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Dikan-c5993, sustained a shoulder injury after colliding with Zenit striker, Kerzhakov. Karpin lamented the situation and revealed that the Russian striker should have been red carded following the incident.
Karpin urged the reserve goalkeepers to step up in his absence.
