The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 coach has urged his side to maintain decent Russian Premier League run after defeating Volga Nizhny Novgorod 2-1 on Sunday
Spartak Moscow recorded their second Russian Premier League win of the ongoing campaign after defeating Volga Nizhny Novgorod 2-1 in the latest league tie at Luzhniki stadium.
The host team came from behind to score a late winner after conceding an early goal. Dmitri Kombarov’s injury-time penalty rescued the title contenders.
Prior to this win, the Moscow-based club managed to win 2-1 against newly promoted side, Alania Vladikavkaz, last week.
Though Spartak are enjoying a decent league run, the Myaso head coach, Unai Emery, still believes that his side can play a lot better than that, admitting that there is plenty of room for improvement.
“It was a hard match. Volga played safe and aggressive in defence, so it was hard to find space for creativity. We had a lot of patience to get to the gate and prevent a dangerous counterattack.”
“Volga scored a goal because of an error. But there are a lot of positive things that could be taken out of the match. we did not let their opponent's goal more than once. We controlled the game the entire ninety minutes. As a
result, I was satisfied. However, I was dissatisfied with the course of the game, the fact that we missed some chances in the first half.” The Miguel Muñoz Trophy (Segunda division) winner was quoted as saying.
Emery, who left La Liga to join Spartak last month, admitted that the Volgari played extremley defensive football, leaving them with little chance on the pitch. The Spanish tactician defended the substitutions he made during the
game, and admitted that he brought on players who could have made an impact on the match.
The former Real Sociedad manager introduced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ari-c6471 and Evgeni Makeev respectively.
Kombarov remained on the sidelines after picking up a muscle injury in the dying minutes of the match.
