The new head coach at Luzhniki stadium has rebuffed the statements linking the defensive midfielder with the Russian outfit
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Felipe-Melo-c13535, telling that the Russian outfit cannot afford to pay the Brazilian’s wages and the transfer fee
in total.
Reports in Russian media suggest that Melo, who spent a season long loan spell at Galatasaray last season, is keen to make a switch to the Moscow-based club after declaring his unwillingness to return to his parent club, Juventus.
Reports also suggested that Juventus have subsequently denied Spartak’s initial 8 million Euros bid for the player, stating that they will only listen to offers near 11 million Euros for the Brazilian star.
According to reports, the Russian outfit, on the other hand, are well short of the Italian club’s valuations of the player.
Meanwhile, it is not the first time the Spartachi are linked with the former Fiorentina player. Former Spartak coach, Valery Karpin, had tried to sign the versatile midfielder during the last winter transfer window.
However, Karpin failed to conclude a deal after the club failed to raise sufficient funds for the transfer.
Emery has heaped praise on Melo, admitting that the talismanic midfielder has bags of talent in him and will definitely benefit a club for which he will play in the near future.
The 40-year-old has expressed his admiration for the player, revealing that he would have bolstered his squad by signing the Brazilian national had he been given a spending spree this summer.
Emery revealed that the Myaso are lacking enough spending power to convince the Italian outfit to conclude a deal.
“I know Melo and I can say that he is a good player. But Spartak cannot afford to buy this playe, the conversation is over, this is impossible.” The former Real Sociedad coach was quoted as saying.
There is little arguing to the statement that Melo has played an influential role in helping the Turkish side claim their 18th league title last season, having scored 12 goals in 36 league appearances at Turk Telekom
Arena.
