The former Soviet Cup winner admitted that Spartak deserved to suffer a 3-0 Russian Premier League defeat against Anzhi Makhachkala at Luzhniki stadium.
Spartak Moscow fell down to the third-spot after suffering a humiliating 3-0 Russian Premier League defeat against Anzhi Makhachkala at Luzhniki stadium. The host team failed to capitalize on their home advantage, conceding 3 goals
including a Nicolas Pareja own goal.
In the aftermath of the outcome, Evgeny Lovchev has blasted the Moscow-based club for putting in a disappointing home performance. He added that the Myaso deserved to get hammered and urged them to improve in the remaining matches
of the ongoing campaign.
Though Spartak have dropped down to the third-spot, they are barely a point behind the second-placed Dynamo Moscow. Lovchev warned the Red-whites against complacency and urged them to turn the tables.
The Myaso will now be hoping to alter the situation when they visit CSKA Moscow at Luzhniki stadium this Saturday. Lovchev revealed the importance of the match, admitting that the fixture will help the two sides fight for a UEFA
Champions League position.
"The players should not only play well but they need to fight for a win until the end. I think they deserved the defeat because they were low, at least in terms of commitment. I think Spartak, who have proven their ability to operate
at a certain limit of strength and to fight for a win until the end in previous meetings, have failed to prove this time around.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Lovchev went on to tell Spartak that hard work never fails and gave the example of Zenit St. Petersburg. The Meshki managed to claim a vital point against Kuban Krasnodar after coming from behind to score two goals during the second
period.
“Look at Zenit, they have pleased their audience with a stunning comeback.” Lovchev concluded.
The former Dynamo player admitted that the score would have been different had Spartak winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aiden-McGeady-c4091, scored the opening goal of the match. Lovchev admitted that the Red-whites failed to take their chances and they need
to work harder in that department.
