Spartak Moscow need consistency in the Russian Premier League, claims Yegor Titov
Former Spartak Moscow player, Yegor Titov, has lamented the Myaso performance against Legia Warsaw in the UEFA Europa League playoff round. Titov believes that Spartak are lacking consistency in their performances and they need
to focus on it in order to finish their current season on a high in the Russian Premier League.
The Myaso were dealt a shock defeat as they conceded three goals at home. The Moscow-based club started the match well and managed to score two goals in the first half but failed to protect their handsome lead and ended up conceding
three, which resulted in elimination of the Russian club from the cup tournament.
Titov bemoaned Spartak's defensive mistakes and the former FC Khimki player stressed on the Myaso to buy a quality defender in order to solve the defensive problems. Titov highlighted that Anzhi Makhachkala have spent enough money
in bringing in the likes of Samuel Eto’o, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuri-Zhirkov-c37683 to Russia, so the Myaso should also consider buying a classy talent to end their miserable league run.
“If Anzhi can buy Roberto Carlos, Yuri and Eto'o, then the red-white needs to buy at least one player to organize the game on defence. We need a guy who can assure the reliability in defence, as we had Gorlukovich at one time. He
played right back, with a very good level of skills. At that time if an error occurred, they bombarded the opponents with repeated attacks on a higher level.” The former Lokomotiv Astana midfielder was quoted as saying.
The Red-Whites started the second round of the Russian league better by recording wins against Lokomotiv Moscow, FK Rostov, Volga Nizhny Novgorod, Terek Grozny and winning comprehensively against the Russian big spenders, Anzhi
Makhachkala, scoring three goals and conceding nil.
Spartak Moscow are currently at the fifth spot on the league table. The former Spartak player revealed that the fans of the Narodnaya Komanda are frustrated with the team performance and waiting for the Myaso to make a comeback
in their upcoming league meeting against CSKA Moscow.
