Former Zenit St. Petersburg chairman has urged Leonid Fedun to sack the Russian tactician if they are to win a Russian Premier League title in the near future.
Spartak Moscow head coach, Valery Karpin, has been the subject of intense scrutiny in recent weeks after the Moscow-based club dropped down to the third-spot on the Russian Premier League table.
There’s little arguing that Myaso are the most successful Russian outfit in the history of Russian football, with 9 league titles ever since the inception of the Russian Premier League. Their nearest challengers, CSKA Moscow, have
only three titles to their name.
However, the Moscow-based club are struggling to win a trophy ever since they lifted the Russian Cup back in 2003. In the ongoing term, they have had a nightmare start to the third league round, having failed to claim a win from
the opening three outings.
Their only hope to get something out of the season is to claim a UEFA Champions League berth. Spartak need to retain the second spot on the league table till the end of the ongoing campaign, if they are to play in Europe next season.
The former Zenit St. Petersburg chairman, Ilya Cherkasov, has
urged Leonid Fedun to fire Karpin, sixth manager to be appointed at Luzhniki stadium since 2006, following a series of disappointing results.
"With regard to the post of head coach at Moscow, I have observed inconsistency in his performances. With all due respect to the Karpin as a player, he is now an explicit loser.
“Fedun has given him immense time but he has not won anything till date. I am surprised that why Fedun, who had fired successful coaches in the past, has not parted company with Karpin after a series of poor results.” Cherkasov
was quoted as saying.
Though the Red-whites' latest 2-0 win over Kuban Krasnodar has released some pressure off Karpin’s shoulders, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Luzhniki stadium.
Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 suggest that the Myaso president has lost patience with the Russian tactician and is lining up former Anzhi Makhachkala head coach, Yuri Krasnozhan, to replace him.
