Former FC Khimki player tips Spartak Moscow to win the upcoming Russian Premier League tie against CSKA Moscow and commented on Andrei Arshavin’s return to Zenit.
Spartak Moscow will host CSKA Moscow in the upcoming Russian Premier League tie at Luzhniki stadium. Former FC Khimki midfielder, Yegor Titov, has admitted that the Myaso have a decent chance to win the crunch league encounter
against the out-of-form Moscow-based club.
There’s little arguing that Armeytsy are having a poor domestic run, having drawn their third round opening games against Zenit St. Petersburg and Dynamo Moscow.
Furthermore, CSKA also crashed out of the UEFA Champions League after suffering an aggregate 5-2 defeat against Real Madrid in the round-of-16.
Titov, who scored 100 goals in 428 outings during his stay at the Moscow-based club, revealed that Spartak need to win their remaining third league round matches if they are to claim a decent spot at the end of the ongoing campaign.
Having drawn their opening 2 league games, Spartak are yet to win a match during the third league round and Titov believes that the time has come for the Red-whites to start winning.
"I am looking forward for a win against CSKA, considering the fact that the army team is not in their prime form. The Koni have failed to win four games in a row. The upcoming match is important for both the clubs.” The former
Lokomotiv Moscow player was quoted as saying.
Titov went on to reveal that Spartak managed to sign decent players during the winter transfer window and gave the example of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 for
an undisclosed fee.
Speaking on Andrei Arshavin’s return to Zenit St. Petersburg on loan, Titov hailed the Meshki upon signing the Russian striker. Titov revealed that the Russian Cup winner will help the St. Petersburg club claim a decent spot at
the end of the season.
“Let's be honest, Arshavin is the only Russian striker who has terrorized defences in Europe. I am not amongst his critics. I think he will rediscover his form.” Titov said.
