  1. Say this loudly:...."This is SpAAAAaaRTAAAAAAA"....n kick them inside the pit !

  2. I'm assuming that you are referring to ancient times.

Spartan women and men had very defined roles.  Men were basically protectors and soldiers, while women were mothers.  All children were inspected at birth; if an infant (male or female) was determined to be too weak or deformed in some way, the child was exposed.  Exposure of infants was common in the Greek world, but only in Sparta was it a state function.

Boys and girls were educated together until the age of 7.  Boys were then trained in military skills and athletics; at the age of 20 a Spartan became a soldier.  Often a Spartan man married in his 20s, but not until he was 30 did he become a full citizen and live in a house with his wife and family (as opposed to a barracks).  Military service did not end until age 60.

Spartan women were also educated in physical skills and athletics.  They were taught to read and write and also to protect themselves.  This was so that the young women would produce strong, healthy children.  Women had an unusual amount of freedom in Sparta, as most Greek women were expected to stay at home and indoors most of the time.  Also, Spartan women were not rushed into marriage and it is believed that most of them were only about 5 years younger than their husbands.  A Spartan woman could even take a new husband if her first one had been away too long.

Marriage generally took place through abduction, and any man could kidnap a wife.  Sometimes this resulted in polygamy or polyandry.  Children were considered property of the state rather than their parents, so perhaps paternity of a child was not a matter for comment.

Oh, and who did the farming and the domestic chores in Sparta?  Slaves known as helots.  Slaves and servants even did most of the child rearing.

I think the big similarity between Spartan men and women was that they all lived a very state-centered life.  The needs of the state were more important than the needs of an individual or a family.

  3. You need to look at their social lives. While both were trained to fight, but there is a difference between the two of them in what they were allowed to do. You also need to look at married life, and those customs. I recommend ask.com they will be very helpful.

  4. thier armour looks the same, so the only way to know if your fighting a guy or girl is to kill them and listen to thier scream...
