  1. Ive had several animals speyed, the vets are so good and its a very simple operation.  She wont change at all because she is so young.  She wont be in any pain as they make her sleep though the operation and then give her pain killers after.  She will heal very quickly.  Getting her speyed wont create any problems like other illnesses and will end up making her and your life easier.  Dont stress!  i know how you feel though as I cried the first time I took my pet to the vet to get speyed!

  2. Spaying can actually help her be more calm and even tempered, not to mention having to deal with going into heat.  As long as your vet is reputable then she should be fine.  She'll be in pain the first couple days but the vet can give her something to help her through it.  Make sure you check her incision each day to make sure its healing ok and isn't infected.

  3. I'm not sure why you are bringing up brain cancer.

In addition to other benefits of spaying - she will no longer have a period, so less messes at home.

I have a chihuahua/mini pin spayed (tiny dog) and she was absolutely fine.  No worried on the spaying.

  4. OK. Brain cancer has nothing to do with being spayed.

Thousands of dogs & cats are spayed & neutred every single day. It's a simple operation that very rarely goes wrong. You shouldn't worry. I doubt it will change her, especially since she is so young. Male dogs change more so than female dogs.

  5. Spaying is one of the best things you can do for your dog in her entire life time. It prevents BREAST CANCER almost completely if you have her spayed before her first heat cycle. No help on brain cancer, sorry life isn't perfect spaying does nothing for brain cancer. It will not change her personality either, it has nothing to do with her DNA. - After every heat cycle that you wait her chances for cancer increase. So do her chances for pyometra, which is a horrible infection of the uterus that involves an emergency surgery and can be fatal. And last but not least, why you should absolutely spay her tomorrow, the younger she is when spayed the less traumatic it is for her. Older dogs have a much harder time with surgery. It's even recommended now to have your dogs and cats spayed between 4 and 6 months. So the sooner the better. It is surgery, so yeah, she will be a little painful, but it is a one time event that will prolong her life for years to come. By having her spayed, you are being a terrific owner. Your vet will give her pain meds during, and sometimes after, the surgery - you can request them for her to go home with too. The important thing to remember is that when you bring her home, she needs to rest because she had surgery and she needs to sleep. No jumping, no running and no ruff housing. Baby her and make her comfortable. Ask your vet if you have any questions when you drop her off tomorrow, I'm sure that he or she will be able to put your mind at ease. Thank you for spaying your dog!
