Question:

Spaying and neutering? Don't mess with nature, Don't own pets!?

People spay and neuter their pets to control their population. But the reason they are in such great numbers is because people want pets. Animals belong in the wild and they have many babies because most of them don't live to be adults. So leave them to nature in the great forests and in 100 years, pets will return to their natural environment like their cousins.

  1. Some people are just plain idiots!

You're meaning to tell me, I should release my three beloved dogs, 4 cats, and two fish into the wild so that in 100 years they will no longer be dependent on humans. Yeah, okay, because that makes complete and total sense.

Just think about it. Dogs EVERYWHERE, pooping, people getting mad, getting hit by cars, even more stray dogs then we already have since no one is getting spayed and neutered since they don't belong to anyone anymore, an INCREASE in population since we let them all go and then they reproduce (the ones not spayed or neutered).

You just contradicted yourself. Look at it this way. You let all the animals 'back into the wild'. The ones that aren't spayed/neutered yet (which is many of them) find eachother and breed. Then you've got new puppies. Those dogs grow up and breed, since they cannot be spayed or neutered since no one owns them. How is that controlling the population? How is THAT chaos a sense of control? Dogs have been man's best friend for hundreds of years. It isn't going to change. There is nothing wrong with owning pets, it's a great positive thing. There is just a difference between a resonsible pet owner and an irresponsible pet owner and people should be educated about the difference. If you aren't ready for the load of responsibility then don't get an animal. It is as simple as that. There is no need to 'release' all your animals into the woods so we can have thousands more infected with rabies. Next time you come up with an insane idea like this, why don't you try thinking a little if that is possible.

  2. That is a very ignorant explanation for your question! Sorry, but the fact that human's have domesticated animals like cats and dogs has meant that we have interfered with their population, we have interfered with 'nature'.

Many animals are abandoned and left to fend for themselves. They breed and the cycle continues. It's a horrible, cruel life for many cats and dogs. There are so many of them that they can not be homed well and there is no choice but to have them put down - It's kinder than leaving them on the streets.

People go to pet shops to buy pets but they should visit the local RSPCA and see how many poor animals have been abandoned and need loving homes!

I personally think people who buy pets and then abandon them should be charged! Humans are the ones to blame for overpopulation of cats and dogs. Letting them breed constantly is cruel, not kind. It may be 'natural', but there's nothing natural about animal cruelty.

Cats are better off as domestic pets, not 'wild' because they kill wildlife and create havoc if left in the wild.

  3. How about we continue to breed our dogs and start spaying and neutering morons? Lets start with you..dumbass.
