I have just fitted two JBL GTO 627 6.5" speakers into my k reg Honda CRX. When you turn on the sterio (sony explod) the two speakers bleep and make a kind of shorting noise and turn themselves off and a message saying 'failure' on the sterio comes up.Could this be to do with the magnet of the speaker touching the metal of the car as they are deeper than the original speakers? The orginal speakers frames are metal so I have taped over the frames to ensure no speakers terminals or wires are touching the metal frame, but this makes no difference. If you take the speakers out of the mounting, they working perfectly.Any ideas? I'm stuck, speakers are usually simple fit, four screws and two wires, not usually a problem.I have the same problem, only when "failure" shows up it's my Sub that goes wonky.. i thought it could be the ground wire which without taking out my deck i think is not attached or secured to anything behind.. If this is the case, what is the best place to re-attach it? Thanks
