Question:

Speaker Switch... HELP!!?

So I asked this question a few days ago about making a switch for turning on and off individual speakers throughout my house. Everyone said that it could be done but now I have a problem...

With the switch, there is a place where you attach a wire for the input, then a place where you connect a wire for an output. The only problem I have now is connecting the speaker wires to the switch box... The speaker wires have 2 wires (positive and negative), so if I connect the speaker wire to the switch box, the + and - wire will connect to same input on the switch... is this a problem or will I need 2 switch boxes (one for + and one for -)?

  1. What are you using for the speaker selector? Usually speaker selectors have input, output, and then 1 to N zones. The zones are what you would hook up the speakers to. Please post your speaker selector model.
