  1. For Standard colored wire, the Silver is the (+) Positive and the Bronze is for (-) negative//

now for Monster speaker wire the White silver one is the (+ )positive and the blue purple one is the (-) negative

  2. For MONSTER CABLES Think of it in terms of using Jumper cables for a car Red is POSITIVE the other wire (usually black) is NEGATIVE.

It really does not matter which color you make positive or negative. You just NEED to make sure that if you hook up the copper for the positive on one end of the wire, you do the same on the other end and hook up the copper wire for the positive on the Back of the Stereo Source

In terms of Quality, for the MONEY... I suggest going with MONSTER CABLES.  They transmit better sound, and can take a lot more wear and tear. In this CASE you will GET what you PAY for.

  3. It just depends on which one you hook up, I usually use gold for positive (or lettering) and silver (no lettering) for negative but it really dont matter, make sure both are hooked up right tho, like gold to gold and silver to silver. Or else youll get crossed sounds.

  4. Neither one is positive or negative, it just a way to wire your speakers to make sure that they are in phase with each other.

In other words you should wire your bronze speaker wire to the red or + , and all silver wire connections to the black or - connections. Or you can reverse the connections, doesn't really matter just make sure that they are all wired the same way.

  5. On the monster jacketed cables (protective outer sheath for in wall installation) there should be a red and black wire (red = pos) or there should be one wire that has small writing that indicates model, gauge and feet. It doesn't matter which one you use for positive and negative in this case as long as you use the same one for positive all the time. Monster uses the one with writing as positive so I try to use their method as standard procedure.

On the nickel and copper wiring you mentioned again it doesn't matter as long as you always use the same one for positive all the time but most people use copper for positive.

  6. ons side of the wire is kinda round and the other side ir square like...take you pick for which is positive and negative, just dont get them mixed up which you choose for each one

  7. the great part about speaker wire is that it doesnt matter. all you need to do is connect one color to the red on both and the other to black on both(or whatever other color it is mine are red and black). if you accidentally switch them its no problem, it creates a small difference in the speakers that most people cant distinguish.

if the speaker wires dont have separate colors usually one will have the wire's information printed on it while the other will not
