Speaker blew out, replaced it, but now it is louder than the other one. Can I fix?

Question

the 6x9 driver's side speaker blew out and i replaced it with one lying around the house. The speaker that blew out was stock and the one I replaced it with was probably something a little better. The one on the right is now noticeably louder than the left one, can I do something to make it match the strength of the other one?

it is never a good idea to run different pairs of speakers....

Replace the set as soon as you can, you will be a lot happier.
