Hello thank you everyone in advance. I have a 1995 Saturn Sl1 and just got some new front and rear speakers. I was wondering if anyone knew a place where i could find an instillation guide. Preferabbly online. Or knew step by step. Also any tips will help thanks!

  1. dude just go to best buy and they will tell you exactly what you need and dont forget to install dynamat to make the sound quality better.......wish you best of luck

  2. The rear ones are usually a breeze, since most of them just sit up in the rear window.  Pop open the trunk, and you should be looking at them.

Hopefully you were paying attention to what kind you needed when you bought the new ones.

Usually stock speakers just plug in.  You can either pick up some adaptors that let you wire the new ones ahead of time, and then just plug 'em in, or you can just cut the plug off and wire them to the new speakers (make sure you get the polarity correct, or it will sound like c**p).

The front ones are where the real fun starts.

They are usually either in a kick panel in front of the door (if you are lucky - since you can usually just take a few screws out, and repeat the steps from the rear speakers).

If you aren't so lucky, they are located in the door panels.  Depending on the car, you can sometimes pop the panel far enough off that you can swap speakers without too much trouble (wiring them is the tricky part).

Car interiors are notoriously hard to get apart due to hidden screws, clips, etc. - and even harder to get back together so that they look good, and don't rattle and vibrate.

Depending on how much you care about the car, you might want to spend the money to have a professional do the work for you.  Check around some local shops, or ask friends/family if they recommend anyone.

The rear ones usually make the biggest difference in the way a car stereo sounds - I've had one or two that I just slapped some big ol' speakers in the back dash, or a big azz cabinet in the back seat or trunk, and just ignored the front ones.
