Speaker is buzzing and voices are distorted what could cause this?

  1. What phantomface55 has already mentioned could be your problem, but if the speaker is buzzing, it sounds like the power supply to your speakers might be going out. The filtering circuit may have lost a capacitor which would casue the buzz. (A lifted input wire would also cause a buzz).

    If anyone else in the house has a speaker set on their computer, ask to borrow it to see if it also buzzes on your computer. If it does buzz, then the problem is somewhere in your computer sound system. If it doesn't buzz, then the problem was in your speaker set and you will have a buy a new speaker set.


  2. the equalizer, or the input jack could not be connected properly, your sound card, there could numerous problems

  3. You might have a blown speaker.
