My computer is Windows Vista... & it's pretty high-tech...

For about a week now, my speakers sound like there's a trype of effect on it... it sounds as if it's echoing... I don't know how to get rid of it & put it back to normal. Anyone know how to fix this special effect & put it back to normal, it's really irritating. Please... thanks =)

  1. Try sending your question over to the computer section.  With computers being what they are, I bet someone over there has seen this problem.  Try to be as descriptive as possible, because some computer problems are tough to diagnose via description.

  2. Assuming you have a pair of speakers, and not a complete surround system, skii is on the right track in my opinion. The easy way to find your sound card software is to type "sound card" in the search area right above the start button.

You definately have sound software, and, like skii says, you are probably in a simulated surround field. When you find it and turn it off, things should be back to normal. Again, assuming that you are running stereo and not surround.

  3. It's probably a setting in the sound card software - something like ambiance, or Concert effect, Hall effect, etc, that's been set and needs to be turned off.

You may have an icon in your taskbar at the bottom right that allows you to get to the sound card software.   Typically you'll see a speaker icon and if you right click on it, it will say something like "adjust audio properties".  Click on that, and you should be able to find the "effect" that's turned on, and turn it off.

If you don't know how to get to the sound card software, find out what sound card you have, then go to the manufacturers website and look at the manual.   If your computer manufacturer has good tech support, they should be able to help you as well.

  4. Go to your volume control center and bring the balance button to the middle.
